Music websites for students to enjoy at home

Music Websites for students to enjoy at home

Mrs. Bettis uses several internet sites in class and students have asked how they can use the activities at home. Below is a list of favorite websites:

http://www.dsokids.com Play baseball with Beethoven and learn more about music composers! Use the time machine to put composers in their place (in history, that is). There are many activities on this website from the Dallas Symphony Orchestra that appeal to all ages and abilities.

http://www.sfskids.org This website, from the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, has really cool instrument activities. Use the composerizer or check out the sounds of the orchestral instruments. Fun for ages 2 to 102+

http://www.mamalisa.com Sing along with songs from every country you can think of. This website does a wonderful job of sharing culture from other countries.

http://www.moodvector.com/pattern Like to drum? This site gives you the opportunity to create drum loops.

www.storylineonline.net The Screen Actors Guild has an excellent website where actors read children's books. Check out Tia and Tamara Mowery reading , "No Mirrors In My Nanna's House" Sweet Honey in the Rock also sings.

If you find a music site Mrs. Bettis might include in her list, drop her a line!
