Mrs. Bettis in Hanamaki

Mrs. Bettis had the great fortune to visit Hanamaki, Iwate Prefecture, Japan, during the Summer of 2005. I was sent as part of the Sister Cities' Teacher Exchange Program. See pictures of the schools and sites from Hanamaki on my blog at http://sistercities2005.blogspot.com. I told my Hanamaki friends that it would never again be a color on a map or a picture in a book, but it now was a place in my heart. Check out my pictures and you will see why.

Mrs. Bettis is a volunteer for Heifer International which is based in Little Rock, AR. Heifer has a mission to end hunger in the world. The other equally important mission is to educate all about how we can learn to help take care of our world.
